Berkeley Vale 'sprung' on Video Surveillance

Workers at Berkeley Vale are being 'spied' on according to workers at the site. "They are using surveillance to monitor our work" said a number of workers.

Why does this not surprise? Management at Berkeley Vale have been using appalling methods to monitor performance ever since I have worked here said another worker.

So the question is: What is going on at Berkeley Vale? Why are employees being monitored without their knowledge? What is happening to employees privacy in accordance with the Act? Why are Supervisors doing this to their employees?

Are Supervisors aware of the consequences of 'breaching the Act'?

You can have a look at the Act at www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/nsw/consol_act/wsa2005245/

In October 2007, a internal memo was sent to employees by Bob Miller (Manufacturing Manager) outlining the reasons for introducing the surveillance.

Has the surveillance really been used for the reasons outlined...We think not! Judge for yourself.

Given that the Manufacturing Manager Robert Miller issued this memo to all employees the question remains:

Has he instructed this to occur and if he did not, does he know if employees are being monitored and if so, what is he doing about it?

The Answer:

NOTHING

to all the union memebers at berkley vale and cooranbong you will be saddened to here that noel magire after years of faithfully giving it to all you blokes has been done by the very company that he aspired to serve.NOW LETS GET READY FOR THE F. O. N. PARTY...

well Noel hope you find redundancy as rewarding as i did, as i was re-employed and working within 2 weeks of being made redundant with better pay and working conditions. As they say a new broom sweeps clean and there is certainly a lot of deadwood in management that needs sweeping clean. Just wondering if your 2 puppets Cal and Brad will also make the redundancy list, come to think about it there also seems to be a large lump of deadwood in the H.R department. All the best in the future pushing a broom along somewhere.
